The JYC Free Workforce Development Training Program, a community-focused organization dedicated to making a positive impact in Sun Prairie, WI, and the surrounding area.

At JYC Free Workforce Development Training Program we take immense pride in our commitment to community development and empowerment. We are excited to share with you our initiative, the JYC Free Workforce Development Training Program, designed to provide 17-year-old students and adults with the opportunity to learn and earn a certificate in the yard care and landscaping industry. We make it easy to participate in the program by providing free lunch for all students and transportation if needed to and from the class.

Program Highlights:

- Comprehensive course covering aspects of lawn maintenance and landscaping.

- Theoretical and practical sessions covering plant installation, pruning, retaining wall installation, spring and fall cleaning, and more.

- Hands-on experience with various tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers, and landscaping equipment.

- By the end of the program, participants will be equipped with the skills and confidence to perform a variety of yard care tasks professionally.

Community Impact:

Our program aims to address several critical community needs. Firstly, by providing individuals with the opportunity to learn valuable skills and earn livable wages, we contribute to reducing unemployment and poverty in our community. Furthermore, we believe that providing individuals with stable employment opportunities can have a positive impact on reducing crime rates and improving overall community well-being.

Future Plans:

Action Jackson (CEO Founder of JYC Workforce Development Program) has ambitious plans for the future, including the purchase of a 10,000 sq ft building in Sun Prairie to create a workforce development hub. This hub will serve as a central location for providing training and skills development programs to young people and adults in the landscaping and yard care industry. Additionally, we plan to purchase yard care and landscaping equipment to be used during training sessions, further enhancing the learning experience for participants.

Giving Back:

Through our JYC Protege Program, we aim to give back to the community by matching young people with veterans and elderly volunteers that want to train the next generation of yard care and landscaping professionals. We also plan to collaborate with other businesses in the yard care and landscaping industry to provide them with trained, qualified employees through our workforce development training program, creating a holistic approach to community impact.
